This is a Chicago Benge, made when Elden Benge was still making handmade trumpets, which were modeled after the French Besson trumpet.

Medium large (.460) bore with all original original parts.   Each valve spring barrel is stamped with the serial number.  

The previous owner had the valves replated at Osman and the valve compression and action is excellent.  The finish shows a fair amount of wear and there is an area near the back braces where the finish has been removed, likely for some solder repair on these braces.

With the valves replated/refitted, the horn plays very well and is a good representative of how a Chicago Benge should play.

Does not come with a case.
