1954 Olds Super Bb trumpet SOLD

This is a 1954 Olds Super Bb trumpet that was made very late in the Los Angeles production before Olds moved its plant down the road to Fullerton later in 1954.   It has been re-lacquered in the past and by all appearances, this work was very well done.  There are some minor imperfections to the brass and nickel-silver under the lacquer,  indicating that minimal buffing was done.  The engraving of the serial numbers and on the tone control ring is sharp and clear.  There is very minor lacquer wear.

 All parts appear to original to the horn.  This trumpet has double pin valve guides and the older style finger buttons with a single vertical groove, which are features that changed shortly after this trumpet was made.  

The valve compression is very good and all slides are free and smooth.  Has matching serial numbers on the piston spring barrels.

Comes with the original case with some wear but still functional.  The latches don't spring, but they still catch.
