1969 Bach Stradivarius ML bore 37 bell Bb trumpet
This is an early Elkhart Bach Stradivarius Bb trumpet in excellent original cosmetic and playing condition. It has the standard configuration for this model with a 37 bell and 25 leadpipe with a medium-large bore.
It has the features of the legendary early Elkhart Bachs – A side-seam one-piece Corporation bell, two-piece valve casings and brass valve guides. It has a "wrap around" saddle on the first valve slide. It also has a water key on the 3rd valve slide.
This trumpet was recently acquired from a short-term owner who indicated that he purchased it from a collector that had purchased it from a music store that closed many years ago and had this in their stock. There is no way to verify this story, but given the condition of this trumpet, the story is believable.
There are a few very minor signs of wear, but the condition of this trumpet (and case) comes about as close to time capsule as you will ever hope to find. The original lacquer is in excellent condition and the only area of discoloration is on the first valve slide crook, which has darkened a bit. Perhaps the installation of the wrap around saddle had something to do with this.
Any apparent blemishes to the lacquer are due to reflections and not any imperfections to the lacquer.
Valve compression is like new and all slides function smoothly.
Comes with the original case in excellent condition.
If you are looking for an Early Elkhart Bach that looks like it came straight from the factory in 1969, this trumpet will be as close as you can come to that.
