1974 LeBlanc model 797 piccolo trumpet

SOLD

This is a LeBlanc model 797 piccolo trumpet that was made in France, most likely by Courtois.

The gold tinted lacquer shows some wear but this trumpet is in very good playing condition.  It comes with the original paperwork and a single pipe which can be extended to play in A.

Here are specifications from an original LeBlanc brochure:

 MODEL 797 Piccolo Trumpet

An instrument with a true piccolo trumpet sound hand-crafted by the greatest instrument makers in the world. Made from the finest brass, the 797 has valves of nickel-plated monel. Pitched in Bb, it plays one octave above the standard Bb soprano trumpet. This piccolo trumpet is suitable for some of the Bach concerti and other well known masters such as Berlioz, who have orchestrated compositions far these instruments. 3 valve, .410” bore.

This piccolo trumpet  has been professionally owned for decades and is  being sold as part of the extensive trumpet collection of famed  west coast studio trumpet player Rick Baptist and will come with a hand written note from Rick describing the history of this horn  and his association with the previous owner, Warren Luening, a renowned trumpet player who was on the Lawrence Welk show for more than 20 years as well as countless movies, TV shows and records.    The case still has Warren Luening's name on it from  a '70's era label maker.
