1977 Olds clark terry model Flugelhorn

trumpet

1977 Olds L13-T Clark Terry Flugelhorn

This is a 1977 Olds L13-T Clark Terry model flugelhorn in very good original condition.  The Clark Terry model trumpet and flugelhorn are among the rarest and most sought after Olds models.  Even though these were among the last instruments made by Olds, they were made in such small numbers that they are hard to find.  While there is a widely held belief that quality suffered near the end of the Olds production, the professional level horns such as this one were still made to the highest quality standards.

This model is only found in the  1977 Olds Catalog.

The Clark Terry model flugel has a .437 bore and a red brass bell.

This particular flugel has very good original lacquer with minimal wear as shown.  The original Olds mouthpipe has a small chip in the receiver and a GR mouthpipe is included as an upgrade in addition to the original mouthpipe.  The finish is good on this flugel, but in the distant past, an owner engraved a DL number on the first valve casing and the left side of the Clark Terry emblem.  Neither of these engravings is a major detraction, but unless the flugel was to be restored and buffed, there is no way to easily remove them without making their removal more noticeable.  Close up photos show this engraving.

All slides are smooth and the valve compression is very good.

Does not come with a case.
