This is a post war Besson Brevete C trumpet in very good condition. It has been relacquered in the past with a gold-tinted lacquer.
There is evidence of some professional dent work on the bell and the lacquer is showing wear in various locations, but the horn has a good overall appearance. It is a medium large bore and valve compression is good.
The French Besson was the model used by Bach, Benge and others that became the standard for all other trumpets in the 20th century. Exact manufacturing dates are sketchy, but this was most likely made in the late 1940's. It appears to have original parts.
The horn plays well and is a great representative of what made these the iconic model of the contemporary trumpet. Does not come with a case.
